Is Pack 345 a religious pack?

Scouting nationally has a “duty to God” line in its oath, and packs are often chartered by religious institutions. So families reasonably ask whether Pack 345 comes with a faith attached. It doesn’t.

We welcome scouts, parents and families whatever their beliefs — and whatever their lack of them. More on that here.

Religion is best handled within the family, between the Akela and the scout. We don’t discuss it at pack or den meetings, and no scout is ever asked about their family’s beliefs.

The Religious Emblems program

If your family does follow a religion, your scout can earn the Religious Emblem for their faith and wear the square knot on their uniform. Entirely optional, and organized by your own religious community rather than by us.

About our meeting spaces

We meet in a lot of places across a year — parks, beaches, community rooms, campgrounds, and spaces lent to us by local organizations. We’re grateful to all of them, and none of them sets our program. Where we’ll be this year →
